In this how-to video, Aerohive Principal Systems Engineer Rich Korb explains how to configure Microsoft Network Policy Server (NPS) to pass user profile attributes to an Aerohive AP. This is a fantastic way to consolidate SSIDs. Based on the security group membership of the user, the AP will place the user into the correct user profile, determined by the attribute passed back from NPS. This forces the user to be placed into specific VLANs and assigned specific firewall and QoS policies dependent on their security group membership in Active Directory.
