Many schools initially built Wi-Fi for convenience over capacity, and Lamar County School District in Mississippi was no exception. When the Director of Technology needed to meet requirements for BYOD and density, it became quickly apparent that the District needed to move away from the controller to accommodate its 1:1 plans and future technology goals.
As the fastest growing district in Mississippi, the District achieved quite an upgrade with Aerohive. Not only could schools handle density, but the District was one of the first Aerohive customers to deploy 802.11ac in the nation. Lamar County is also using Aerohive features like Social Login with Google Classroom for easy authentication.
