Last summer we released a set of REST APIs for ID Manager. Our goal is to enable customers and partners to use these APIs to create unique, tuned workflows for their environments.

One thing you may not realize is we also used the APIs ourselves. We recently released our first iOS app, ID Manager for iOS, and it uses these same APIs to demonstrate our vision for ID Manager. Our goal is to give you greater flexibility in how you deploy ID Manager in your environment.
The ID Manager REST APIs provide several basic functions:
- Authentication of the employee via Active Directory
- Query for available Guest Types
- Create and delete credentials
- Name and rename credentials
- Deliver credentials
Using these APIs, you can create unique workflows that are customized to your particular needs. Over time, you will see Aerohive continue down this path of making APIs available for our platform as well as providing reference apps that you can customize.
