The British School of Brussels (BSB), an international school for students from age 3 to 18, had an existing Wi-Fi network. However, it needed an enterprise-class wireless network architecture that was reliable and built to scale with the growing needs of the school. As part of the school's commitment to integrating technology into its classrooms, the BSB had recently begun an extensive device rollout program equipping students with iPads for classroom use.

The school replaced its ad hoc Wi-Fi network with the Aerohive solution, providing ample capacity to support active online group learning. Together with the classroom mobile device clusters, Aerohive supports BSB’s ambitious school network of 600 computers, 75 laptops, 12 dedicated PC suites and eight Apple Macs for creative work, such as musical composition, graphic design and filmmaking.

One of the major benefits to the IT staff is ease of management via HiveManager Online. Aerohive's cloud-based platform not only brings greater network management flexibility, but also has substantially kept operational time and costs in check, especially when compared to the previous system.

The scale and rapid expansion of the school's network demonstrates BSB’s commitment to integrating technology into the broader curriculum, and encouraging students to build IT skills into everyday life.
